2 Minutes Read Time

A brown doe, looking straight ahead with its ears perked up. Its eyes are black, and it stands in front of a dark, blurred, forest scene.

the trails looking
at the other men looking
at me & when there were
no men to look at I was looking
at Grindr as the leaves fell
around me & the men
passed other men until

& each time a man passed
I rearranged myself
in my shorts even
when the men

rearranging myself

at the men & look down
at my phone because
there were plenty

around me & each time
I heard a cough or a twig
snap I looked up & looked
down & looked up
& kept walking & then
all of a sudden I could not
keep walking because
before me & looking
straight at me was a deer
in the middle of the path
& I froze & I looked at the deer
& the deer looked back
at me the way a man
might look at me if
he wanted to follow me

I almost followed it
