Robert Thomas reads from “Sonnets with Riff and Hook”

In our fall issue, we publish a sonnet crown by Robert Thomas, “Sonnets with Riff and Hook.” Here, Robert reads the first and tenth of the sonnets, “Sonnet with Church and Osso Buco” and “Sonnet with Bicycle and Fuse” (read those two sections here) and explains some context. Robert Thomas’s books include Sonnets with Two Torches and One Cliff (Carnegie Mellon University Press, 2023), Bridge (BOA Editions, 2014; PEN Center USA Literary Award for Fiction), and Dragging the Lake (Carnegie Mellon University Press, 2006). He has received an NEA fellowship and a Pushcart Prize and lives with his wife in Oakland, California.
