Precious Vicious

Men remind her every day to take her pills and how precious that 
    she writes
so vicious she considers a bulldozer her body the soft organs of it

a stomach and the lining acidic and accepting of what she puts 
    there or not
and what about the hands one palmed flattened on a page the other 
    balled fisted

around a metallic pen how precious she considers her mouth what 
    she puts there
what her hands press inside how many and are there too many 
    questions

her mouth asks asking it in another way too precious when written 
    too vicious
the men say come here come inside and a mouth hers asking yes 
    yes darling

her mouth will say what is it that you want we want your body 
    they say
she considers her body and a building concrete it can’t bend she 
    places her body

within it when she writes about bulldozers vicious and considers 
     her body
how it can break too can cut itself from a page how precious when 
    she tries

to write it as though it all happened yesterday years ago and to 
    someone else
