is from Sevier County, Tennessee, and was raised in South Carolina. His fiction has appeared in The Cincinnati Review,Blackbird, Mississippi Review, and storySouth. He is a recipient of Blackbird‘s Rebecca Mitchell Tarumoto Short Fiction Prize and an associate director for the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. He is currently working on The Lizard Man, his novel-in-progress about two married cryptozoologists hoping to recapture the romance in their relationship.
