is the author of the novels The Leave-Takers (University of Nebraska Press, 2021) and Of Fathers and Fire (University of Nebraska Press, 2019), both part of the Flyover Fiction Series, and the short-story collection Wifeshopping (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2008). He is an associate professor at South Dakota State University.
