is an American Photographer and Poet who resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. Joel has spent his career teaching English and creative writing to America’s youth. In addition he is a published author of two books of poetry, Winged Insects (1999), Knowing Time by Light (2010), Lessons in Disappearance (2012) In addition, his poetry and essays have been published in the Gettysburg Review, Sports Literate, Prairie Schooner, Bellingham Review, Rhino, Bitter Oleander, Massachusetts Review, Terrain, and Water-Stone Review, among others.
As Joel’s career has gone on, he has continuously found inspiration in the natural world around him. His interest in the unique scape of Utah and the creatures that inhabit it, drew him into capturing these special moments with photography. He’s since built his life around finding these moments and being able to share their beauty with the community and further into the world.
